The hotel is the transformation and extension of a summer Belle Époque mansion designed by the famed French architect Claude Sahut and completed in 1914.

The original part of the house was transformed to house 10 large rooms plus common areas. Next to the mansion an annex was constructed where 7 additional are located.

Whilst the original mansion consists of two floors, the new one has three, with a strict height limit. The difference between these levels was resolved by a staircase which is now recognized as an iconic space, taking the concept of the cylindrical design of the original entry.

The objective of the restoration was to transform the old mansion by adding bathrooms and other facilities without altering the essence of the original house. Only the reception and a staircase are visibly and contain new and fitted both as part of the decoration. The new annexed building though is clearly contemporary and cozy living space and vertical gardens. The relationship between new and old was enriched by subsequent decoration following the same premise. An important collection of contemporary art is housed in all the areas of the hotel.
