The Singular Patagonia Reopens for the Summer Season
As the ice melts away another winter season in Chile, The Singular Patagonia prepares to reopen on Sept. 17. The five-star hotel, which boasts 54 guestrooms, an onsite Chilean restaurant, and views of the Fjord of Last Hope Sound and the Andes Mountains, is located in the historic pioneer town of Puerto Natales and in close proximity to the Torres del Paine National Park, making it an ideal starting point for explorations in Patagonia.
With the new season—its fifth—comes a selection of new excursions. The hotel is offering guests a variety of new expeditions and outdoor experiences, including fly fishing in the fresh water created by the ice fields; horseback riding across an estancia (a cattle ranch); and a full-day private boat excursion around fjords and glaciers. Guests can also tour the estancia, where they’ll meet with authentic gauchos (cowboys) and learn about the history, customs and traditions of Chilean ranches, or go on a full-day kayaking excursion through the Patagonian fjords. Rates start at $1,300 per night dbl, and include accommodations, all meals and all activities. For guests traveling with children under 12, there is an extra $200 fee per night for an additional room; for kids between 12 and 17 there is a $400 fee.
